Competition/Festival Team
What is the competition/festival team?
Our festival/competition team work towards pieces to compete and perform at local festivals/events throughout the year. Typically work on new pieces will begin in the September ready for 3/4 competitions between January-July of the following year. We usually keep the same dance for a full performance cycle which is two seasons though this is at the choreographers discretion and may vary from season to season.
Additional opportunities are also available to perform solos/duets/trios at the same and additional festivals/events once students are settled into troupe.
How do we join?
Our festival team entry is by audition/invite only with auditions normally taking place in the preceding Summer for the upcoming season (September -July).
A little bit more info...
Our troupe teams are for our most dedicated dancers that want to work towards additional performance opportunities over the year. We have a range of different troupes students may want to audition for including Jazz, Contemporary and Acro troupes.
Students taking part in troupe are expected to attend additional weekly/bi-weekly rehearsals for their troupe dances and therefore this is a big commitment and should be considered before auditioning for our troupe teams.
Troupe is for our most committed and dedicated dancers therefore whilst they should of course be fun and enjoyable we do treat all rehearsals with professionalism and look for students showing a willingness to learn and improve.
